New! with scented flowers and colourful foliage
Recently introduced and rarely available in the UK, this new French fancy is closely related to Viburnum x hillieri Winton (which happens to be one of its parents). Each spring, the young leaves emerge with a bronze-red flush, but this settles down to a more uniform green through the summer. The colour turns again in autumn and winter, and the shrub will retain many of its leaves once it has become established. As well as this attractive folige, clusters of scented creamy white flowers appear in summer, and these are followed by decorative, bright red berries. Because of its many periods of seasonal interest, this shrub makes an excellent addition to smaller town gardens.
